Mary Mc Laughlin’s Cór Ainglí Singers is a 9 piece women's ensemble drawn from the larger Cór Ainglí choir based in Santa Cruz California. This sterling group of singers will help Mary launch her new album Sacred Days, Mythic Ways in Dec. 2012 at venues in the Bay Area.
Mary formed the original Cór Ainglí (Angelic Choir) in 2007 to perform her previous album A Gaelic Christmas. The choir began as a community choir and gradually developed into a choir whose reputation went before them! Cór Ainglí consistently sold out venues through the Bay Area, California from 2007 until 2011 when they performed their annual Christmas concert series.
Although a wonderful experience, Mary had to let the full choir go during 2012, due to the time commitment involved in running a 25 piece choir, which was not possible while recording her new album Sacred Days, Mythic Ways.
At the same time in order to launch her new album she needed a small group of highly experienced choral singers who could quickly learn a new repertoire of Gaelic song and Gregorian chant - arranged for 3-5 female voices. Fortunately she had such a group within the existing choir - hence The Cór Ainglí Singers.
